Montgomery County Public Schools (MSPS) is the largest school district in Maryland and the 17th largest in the Country. There are almost 160,000 children enrolled with a 90% graduation rate. Thirty-seven MCPS schools are honored as National Blue Ribbon Schools. The 204 schools in Montgomery County are grouped into clusters, most of which are assigned by home address. Certain home addresses, however, are located within the boundaries of a consortium cluster (Downtown Consortium and Northeast Consortium). Students living in these boundaries may request attendance at a particular high school within their consortium cluster in the 8th grade. More information on MCPS can be found at http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org.
